What does creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, decision-making and 21st century learning look like in the mathematics classroom? Join us for the Summer Institute with problem-solving and STEM Lesson Study with your colleagues.
(priority grades 4-8 teachers)
Teachers will participate in
- Seminar institute (3 graduate credits) focused on mathematics content and pedagogy
- Designing lessons & open-ended assessments aligned to the VA Standards of Learning (SOL) that promote 21st century skills
- Enhancing classroom instruction using technology integrated lessons
- Designing Performance Based Assessments
- Follow-up School-based Lesson Study
Dates: July 15-19, 2013 (Monday – Friday) 8:30-3:30pm Summer Institute with Lesson Labs
Fall Follow-up: Two webinars and a designated Lesson Study Date in the fall with Substitute Funds.
